Fic preview: Until the Sun Goes Down

andiheardeverything:

Warnings for sadness. You asked for this anon :)

-

The door squeaks open, a sliver of yellow light creeping into the room. Blaine blinks awake, aims his gaze at where Kurt’s face would be. It’s not there.

“Daddy?” a timid voice and Blaine redirects his gaze a little lower. Ava stands nervously in the doorway, her small hands clutching a mug tightly.

“Hey baby girl,” Blaine’s voice is rough, tired. He clears his throat. “You can turn on the light.”

Ava reaches up and flicks on the light to the dimmest setting, just enough that he can see her blonde hair, wet from her bath, and her pink nightgown, the one Blaine had gotten her for her birthday last year. She carefully shuts the door behind her and pads across the room to stand beside Blaine’s bed.

“We had pizza for dinner,” she says, keeping her voice just above a whisper.

“Did you?” Blaine asks, pushing himself up onto the pillows against the headboard. Ava nods.

“Papa and I made it ourselves!” she says proudly and Blaine smiles at her. “I wanted to bring you some but papa said you weren’t feeling good today, so I brought you tea instead.”

#21 Head Over Feet

when this song comes on:

Hands down, Alanis’s best song, ballad, whatever

it’s going to be played in my wedding, like actually it is

and yup it just summarizes all the feelings I have for my non existant life partner in addition to the feeling I feel when i see Klaine dance across my computer screen.
honestly how can you not love this song? it is pure, simple, to the point and unbashfully shameless. “You’re my best friend, best friend with benefits”

I WANT THIS SUNG AT MY WEDDING

future husband gets no say in the matter.

:) the music video is also amazing, if only for it’s simplicity.

this is the lucky star on Jagged Little Pill and the first song I ever fell in love with.

Alanis’s poetry has never come across more true than in this song, and I’m glad as hell she didn’t lose that little book when she got mugged while she was writing the greatest album of the 90s.

#22 Speechless

the biggest & baddest glam rock ballad david bowie and freddie mercurey never wrote.

damn gaga, you got some pipes

wanted to play this at a talent show one year, got rejected

#fuckers

still love this song, especially reminds me of Jaclyn, cause it’s our jam, and it always makes me feel better :)

never released as a single (fake cover art, my bad) this is a hidden gem in the fame monster that only true little monsters (and rolling stone aparently) know about.

ps this is the first of nine gaga song’s on this list, are we surprised? not really.

#23 The Only Exception

if you don’t love this song, you can go fuck yourself in the bitterness of your lonely life with out hope for romance

but seriously, I LOVE this song

i even wrote a fanfic inspired by it

Hayley Williams showing us a vulnerable side of Paramore, and her voice has never sounded better. This song is for whoever sweeps me off my feet, and after I marry this man i’m getting this tattooed on my left forarm in simple block letters, as a reminder of my 1 in 7billioness

love this song start to finish, it’s gotten me through a lot, and it always will.

That was the day i promised I’d never sing of love, if it does not exist. but darling you are, the only exception… oh and I’m on my way to believin’

#24 Samson

This one is for you, no sass nothing, I defiantly loved you first, and I always will.
This is a priceless gem  hope diamond in the stunning catalogue crown jewels of Regina Spektor. It was written as ballad to deal with Regina’s grief that her boyfriend was going through chemo, and was so nauseous he could only eat wonder bread (LEGALIZE IT MY FRIENDS, anyways) and after she shaved his head, she related the song to samson and delilah, portraying a more vulnerable side to the perceived harlot in the book of judges(?)

Regina leaves her anti-folk bubble gummyness behind and good ridence! the most briliant song she has ever come up with, in every aspect.
